Troop 199 was formed in May 1984 . In 2017, when the troop strength increased to around 100 scouts, the troop was split. The new troop, after the split, it has around 40 scouts and growing.
We are Chartered by "South Bay Community Church".
We meet every Wednesday and plan one or more activities (camping, hiking, etc) every month.
Mission
Troop 199 will be the best sub-40 boy Troop in the Golden Gate Area Council. We will accomplish this by following the Scout Oath and Law and through a vigorous outdoor program including hiking, camping, backpacking and aquatics. We will strive to have a Scout-run and organized Troop. This will be coupled with active, high-level participation of the Scouts and leaders, aided by an interested and involved group of parents.
Troop 199 is a "medium" - "high" adventure activity troop with lots of focus on service oriented activities and projects. We help out in the Annual National Scouting for Food program, assist in Christmas Gift distribution for needy families, and work closely with Good Will organization on fundraising events.
